OK, have many more thoughts on this, but want to say something about the Disney thing. Wile *Disney* themed Met show makes me want to vomit (ugh, Disney/Marvel has already taken over everything else and infantilized our culture so much!!!!), I do love the dark richness of Fairy Tales as a theme. Have to admit that some of my favorite pieces at the Karl Lagerfeld Met show were these sort of trompe l'oeil fur pieces depicting fairy tale scenes — and because they were fur captured both the gradiose and also kind of horrifying icky factor of fairy tales (the sublime!). However, the Museum at FIT did a Fairy Tale Fashion exhibit a few years ago, which was quite good, and the Met does not like doing something that's been already done.
