Great post! It reminds of the article I read recently where scuffed Hermes Birkins and Kellys are all the rage, not the perfectly preserved ones. It telegraphed that you bought the bag for its usefulness and by showing its wear, you're demonstrating almost disdain for those who keep theirs in wraps. Maybe we've come to the end of logo-itis, and we can select items for their style, beauty and fit.
This is so SPOT ON. I laughed out loud in several places reliving last night. I have to say that the brown suit that Shiv was wearing was so hideous. I feel like they always put her in very unflattering clothes. She was having a major bra issue under that brown tank -- I didn't believe a Roy wouldn't have impeccable undergarments. LOLOLO. Love this.
Such brilliant read. Reminds of how you never see Anna Wintour with a bag. She's too rich & powerful to need to carry one, her assistants carry anything she needs I'm sure. She literally just carries her phone. Love it! And cannot wait to watch the new series X
I am howling. “The loro piano loafer of mansions” is the most accurate description-I’m dead 😂😂😂😂 And the party scene with Tom ripping into Greg about his date was a master class. This analysis was exactly what I needed after last night’s episode
I have TRIED to watch succession and I just couldn’t get into it. However! In literally one post you turned me completely around on this. This is exactly the angle I needed. (Back in the day I only watched the city so I could understand your recaps 😅🙈) THANK YOU!
DARIUS. You must give Succession time. It's so good! And The City omg thank you for reminding me of that show -- it was so fantastic. An under-appreciated classic!
I once was at a thing with European nobility and "clothes had the vibe of the saddest things they could find at the world’s most expensive stores" is the perfect description.

Yes, that story was great. Logos have never felt more dead to me!

Thank you Brooke! And turns out that suit was... Max Mara! A brand I adore and aspire to.
Totally agree! Her clothes are always so unflattering and ill fitting that it must be intentional but I can’t figure out why.

Yes! She has her assistants pick up her tote bag from her car every morning. Such an old school Conde flex.
We learned it all from you!

Thank you! Tom's writers are on a roll, cannot wait for ep. 2
How fun! The group dressing these characters are hitting the mark perfectly. Just love you writing about this show and the new trend.
Thank you!!
