From a sex tape to billionaires- the American way. But I still can’t stand her and the rest of her family & won’t contribute to it- ever.

She is interesting to look at, and her team seems to have their pulse on new and emerging trends. She looks good in print, never saw the sex tape, but when she opens her mouth I hit mute. She talks in a baby talk that I find unbearable. There is A.LOT. Of work to maintain a certain facade she has. I admit not being plugged into current celebrity cults, she works it well. But looking at others; Paris Hilton immediately comes to mind how long is she going to last? In fact how long will any of this last?

The world is in a very strange place right now. We are on the edge of a knife, economically, politically, emotionally and our health is not good. If we as a society really breakdown, will anyone watch these people? Will they care? Will it be something that people will want to try and emulate? What happens if the grid goes down and they don’t have an audience, and what will happen to their fashion, photos, etc when everyday is a struggle to just survive. I think the next year is going to be VERY interesting and not in a good way.(more like, didn’t see that coming) it is going to get very interesting.

They and their spawn are already set for life. If the economy implodes, it won't affect them. They might feel the pangs of withdrawal from the glare of celebrity and suffer great emotional pain, poor things, but financially, if they don't even do another thing ever again, they are set for several lives.

I have to say the K cult has interesting tinges of multiple bargains with the Devil. I'm just waiting for the exclusive tie-in with Skims and Khaite, (pace Khaite, she's the only designer I can think of who starts with that initial) and the subsequent implosion.

It's really fascinating how far their reach is. I remember being shocked about the Poosh/Goop collab, thinking GP would be "above" any association with the Kardashians. But I really shouldn't have been. The K's are apparently eternally relevant, so why not give in and partner with them and appear on the show together?

And I'm thinking about what Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk could do with the KS, but of course Kim is a costar in the current iteration, AHS Delicate.

I’ve never understood their appeal, and I’m not saying that in an “I’m so cool and highbrow” way. Clearly I’m missing something that a lot of other people see. Kim is very attractive, that’s undeniable, but as a model I find her uninteresting. The other day I was in the Union Square subway station in NY, for example, and there were tons of Marc Jacobs ads with Kim staring blankly at the camera. Obviously she’s very effective at driving sales or they wouldn’t hire her, but I don’t see what is so appealing about this blank affect. “Grumble grumble, get off my lawn, etc.”

What's interesting to me is that, whenever a Kardashian appears on social media, the comments are now overwhelmingly negative with a lot of commentary about how out of touch they are, their gross display of wealth and vulgarity. Yet they are still so strong in the popular culture, their businesses are thriving, and so it feels like this disconnect. The public kind of hates them, yet they are still at the top of the celeb/pop culture food chain. It is head-spinning. Is it just a sheer force of will, and their willing to be everywhere all at once, shoving themselves down everyone's throats to the point of submission? (If there is one thing I can give Kim, it's that she does seem to work damn hard).
