What Is Back Row?

Fashion news for people who want to be entertained.

Back Row is a newsletter about fashion, meant to entertain and inform. It is for anyone who likes to read, whether you’re in the business or not.

I began my fashion journalism career as a blogger for The Cut at New York magazine in 2008, and for those of you who remember aughts blogging, the style of this newsletter will be similar to what I did there. For those of you who don’t remember aughts blogging (the horror), here’s what you can expect from Back Row: entertaining commentary about fashion news.

My personal fashion obsessions include: Victoria’s Secret; red carpet trends and celebrity fashion statements; things influencers do; how much air gets between your calves and your jeans and the terror seismic denim shifts inspire. You can find even more of that kind of thing in my book, Tales From the Back Row.

A weekly news round-up every Friday will be free. Eventually, I’ll add paid content, but first I’d like to get this going and understand what you would pay to read.
